British Fly Fair International

I am Ashley Strutt and based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, UK. I mostly fish the chalk streams around Salisbury (Wiltshire), the small streams in the Severn valley and the River Usk.

Occasionally I get to travel and I have visited Cape Cod and the Adirondack region of the USA, Ireland and Slovenia which means that that I tie a wide variety of flies for the different situations that I encounter but I mostly tie saltwater and river flies.

This has given me good excuses to experiment with new materials and techniques with flies to deal with constantly changing conditions and water types. I have a particular interest in materials that are easily available to the tyer.

This will be a return visit to the British Fly Fair International and look forward to meeting new and old friends.
