Stephen Smalley

Stephen Smalley

Stephen has been fishing for over thirty years, firstly on the small freestone streams and rivers in the northwest of England.

In his teens he started fly fishing on the small still waters and larger reservoirs in the northwest of England.

He has been competing for several years, starting off fly fishing in local competitions before progressing to national competitions with the highlight of representing England.

Stephen is also a member the successful competition team “Ospreys” as well as an ambassador for Vision Fly Fishing UK.

When not competing he ties his own flies where he enjoys experimenting with different and new materials, he has also written for fly fishing publications in the UK.
