British Fly Fair International

The Premier Fly Tying Show

Mark Robinson

Mark Robinson

My name is Mark Robinson and I live in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Fly Tying has been a real passion of mine for the past 30 years, and I enjoy fly fishing some of the the mighty Loughs in Ireland namely Lough Corrib, Lough Melvin and Lough Erne.

I love tying traditional and modern Irish Lough patterns such as Dabblers, Green Peters, Octopus, May Flies, Gorgeous Georges and Bumbles. I get immense satisfaction from adding my own personal twists to these tried and tested patterns by incorporating modern day materials.

I also tye modern Rainbow Trout lures, but I have to say the traditional and modern Irish lough flies are my favourites. I am mainly self taught and follow some of the giants in the fly tying world through literature and video.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see friends and customers catching on my patterns. Speaking to some of the seasoned top Fly Tyers and anglers, and getting a personal insight into fishing methods and tying techniques in itself is truly inspirational, and can totally change your tying methods and the construction of any fly.

This will be my first year tying at the British Fly Fair International, and I am truly honoured and excited to be tying alongside some of the true masters in the Fly Tying World, and look forward to see you all at this year’s show.
