Adam Fewtrell
Having first wet a line at the age of five, fishing has been in my blood and a passion ever since. Most of my time is now spent chasing trout and grayling on my beloved River Wharfe, along with numerous other rivers throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria. I’ve also been fortunate enough to fish in Canada and am a regular visitor to Iceland’s wonderful Big Laxa.
Most of my tying focusses on dry flies and nymphs for rivers, having been inspired by tyers such as Oliver Edwards. I also love the challenge of tying traditional winged or married-wing wet flies, replicating the wonderful creations of tyers like Ray Bergman and Ken Sawada.
As a member of the Game Angling Instructor’s Association and the Leeds branch of the Fly Dressers Guild, I would thoroughly recommend both organisations for those wanting to improve their casting, fly tying and all-round fishing skills.
Originally from Cheshire, I have since been adopted by Yorkshire and now reside in Leeds with my very patient wife, two children and our Cockerpoo.
Tight lines, Adam
