I first started Fly tying at about the age of 7. Being encouraged by my Farther, Uncles & Grandfather, I remember being absolutly fascinated by the Flies, Fly tying tools & Materials.

After a break from tying in my late teens & twenties I’ve immersed myself back into the sport & am very proud of things I’ve accomplished, I’ve become an Angling Trust Level 2 coach who has worked for the Fabulous Fishing for Schools charity for about 12 years now,

I’ve been on the Chevron Pro team for over 10 years & have been a regular on the Chevron Clinic at the BFFI, I qualified as an ARMI & RIM Entomology kit sampling monitor. I helped coach the England Youth Loch style team for 2 years winning silver twice, I’m a keen member of the Fly Dressers Guild who contributes articles for our Guild magazine & have been on the executive committee for over 10 years.

I have won the prestigious Orvis Iron man fly tying challenge twice & now regularly run the Orvis Fly tying School with my good friend Steve.

Wiltshire born & bred I’m very fortunate to be right on the Chalkstreams and my local River Wylye although I also really enjoy fishing & tying flies for Stillwater, Reservoirs & salt.
