Steven Shorrock

I’m Steven Shorrock from Cheshire. I’ve spent many years competing in coarse fishing matches, but five years ago, I turned to fly fishing and tying. I’ve never looked back since.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have been mentored by some great tiers who have helped me develop my skills. I have a particular passion for tying tactical nymphs and dries.
I’ve had the pleasure of tying and demonstrating at various open days for The Peacock Fly Fishing Club, Ludlow Fly Tying Club, John Norris, and Mallon & Green. I’m also proud to be an ambassador for Veniards, Partridge of Redditch, and Raidzap.
My mainstay of fishing is based around Staffordshire and Derbyshire, where I spend most of my time during trout season on the River Wye, Derwent, Dove, and Lathkill. I hunt for their wild Brown Trout and Rainbows. In winter, my focus shifts to in and around Wales, targeting the Grayling on the Dee, Wye, and Severn.
Wild fish is my passion, and I regularly travel to Bosnia in pursuit of their massive grayling on tiny flies.
